No Such Thing as Too Much Taco Tuesday FUN!

Taco Tuesday went off without a Hitch!

You may have noticed from my blog that I have been pretty excited about Taco Tuesday. My class just needed something to break up the week and refresh Daily 5 and Guided Math. Well excitement and engagement is exactly what it brought to the class. They were so involved in what they were doing that I did not hear a peep from them (other than using their great teacher voices to sound out words)

It feels so good when hard work pays off! I must say that this pack would not have been possible without the encouragement from my two great friends Beth & Sarah! Thank you ladies for believing in my crazy ideas and for cheering me on along the way! I would be LOST without you two!! :)

First Grade Teacher Lady TPT

On Saturday I spent the day at the hospital. We were awaiting the arrival of one important little lady! As she was taking her time joining the world, I was in the waiting room creating this new project. 

I am creating this document for teachers who need to get organized, but want to do it in a stylish way! I love a clean, organized, and cute classroom. I hope this helps you like it helped me :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there! 

Here is what we were doing in our class this week :)

I found this great FREE pack on Wild About Firsties! 

First we charted all about moms! It was so sweet to hear the things the kids were saying. My favorite student response was, "Moms have good hearts!"

 The students made their own copy to share with mom!

Then we wrote about why we "flip" for mom! They loved writing about all the reasons they love her and how they were going to flip flop jobs with mom so that she could relax on her big day!

Then I wanted to make a fun card for the moms. I traced each child, had them cut them selves out and we made giant size cards. Then we rolled them all up and they just looked like a scroll. My mom LOVED hers when she opened it today ;) It was easy to do and the kids loved it!

Teacher Appreciation!

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week has been filled with warm and fuzzies! It started on Tuesday morning as I worked on a little something for my team memebers. I wanted them to know just how much they mean to me and how much I appreciate all of their help and support through my first year of teaching. I came up with this for each of them.

Then, I got to Skype with my best friend and her class. Our classes have been pen pals all year. They have loved writing back and forth and getting to know someone new. We spent some time in the morning getting to know one another "face to face". My kids were so excited to see Casey's belly! They knew that she was pregnant but when she showed her tummy they just giggled and awed! I am very lucky to have such an amazing person as a best friend and I was glad we were able to do this project together!! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week Casey!

MORE FUN!

Then my very sweet soon to be mother-in-law just LOVES to make me cry. She wrote this very sweet blog post about me. Click on her picture to take you to her blog.

Then because we all know that there is nothing better than free food.. Davey and I went to Chipolte for buy 1 get 1 free burritos. It was so GOOD! After dinner I was spoiled by the hubby and got to go to the learning source. It is a great little shop in Mechanicsburg. They specialized in teaching and education materials. I got a few things for next year already!! (Hard to think it is not that far away!) Then a great night would not be complete without a small vanilla ice cream cone! I am so glad I have a VERY supportive, LOVING, and UNDERSTANDING man that stands behind me  :)

Am I blessed of what? I think so! Happy Teacher Appreciation to you!!
